Eligible worker

1. Who  

An Australian or New Zealand citizen OR permanent resident OR A Visa holder with permission to work and study in Australia.  

 

AND    Employed in the Queensland building and construction industry as described below.

Who is eligible  

Employees and Self-employed workers, substantially engaged, in the Queensland residential building and construction industry doing:

• renovations and extensions of residential and commercial buildings

• installation services for interiors of residential and commercial buildings in associated trades; electrical, plumbing, flooring etc.  

Employed and Self-employed in the Queensland civil construction industry doing:

• land development and site preparation for the purpose of construction

• works on a CSQ designated Major Project - construction of infrastructure  Working on a CSQ designated Major Project and nominated for training by the authorised representative. Unemployed workers (not greater than 4 years) who would otherwise meet the requirements as above.  

 

2. Who is not eligible

• Employees of an Authority (employees of Local Council are acceptable)

• Employees of other industries (school based Apprentices or Trainees are acceptable)

• Consultants

• Supply Chain workers

• Council workers not engaged in building and Construction work outlined above

• Apprentices and Trainees including School Based Apprentices and Trainees not in a CSQ designated Apprenticeship/Traineeship (appendix 3) and Skilling Queenslanders for Work Trainees

• Already funded by an Authority or other such source for delivery of the same training: which includes “fee-Free TAFE” and Federal, State and Local Government funding

• International Students  

• RTO employees or contracted trainers and assessors

• Participants seeking verification of competency

• Currently enrolled and participating in a school program  

• Participants excluded under the program rules which includes the program limitations 

 

Graviteq requested evidence:

To be eligible for CSQ funding all participants must meet the following criteria:

#1 Evidence of right to work in Australia; (one of the following)

• Green Medicare Card (Current) or My.gov – Medicare snapshot

• Australian or New Zealand Passport (Up to 6 months from expiry)

• Australian or New Zealand Full Birth Certificate or Extract*

• A Granted Permanent Resident Visa with permission to work

• A Granted Visa holder with relevant permission to work with in the construction industry

#2 Evidence of employed in Queensland within the Building and Construction Industry; or
- unemployed eligible worker – who has been unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years, who prior to being unemployed was an eligible worker.

(one of the following)

• Statutory Declaration providing details of employment including role and duties within the Building and Construction Industry.

• Employer letter (on letter head and signed by the employer) confirming employment, role and duties in the Building and Construction industry

• Relevant current Licence (as per listing below)

• QLeave Statement (current statement showing credits within last 4 years)

• Self employed: ABN/ACN registration showing ownership and Invoices for recent work in the industry.

• Approved Apprenticeship (A) or Traineeship (T) with DESBT As listed below

#3 Government issued, photo ID

(one of the following)

• Drivers licence (front and back)

• Passport (photo page)

• 18+ card or similar (front and back)
